Whereas, Sanjay Roy said he was being framed and was made to sign false documents forcefully

The hearing is now complete in the RG Kar Rape case - Verdict at 2:45pm.

The courtroom witnessed heated arguments ahead of Sanjay Roy's sentencing in the RG Kar rape and murder case.

Sanjay’s Lawyer:

Questioned the lack of concrete evidence linking Sanjay as the sole accused.
Argued, "How can the death sentence be pronounced without irrefutable proof? Refer to the Supreme Court's guidelines."

Sanjay Roy’s Emotional Plea:

Claimed police forced him to sign documents after his arrest.
Alleged mental torture and improper medical examination, saying, "Where is my Rudraksha mala? I am innocent and have been framed."

Victim’s Parents’ Lawyer:

Demanded the death penalty, saying, "No punishment less than death is fit for such a heinous crime."

CBI’s Stand:

Declared this case as "the rarest of rare" and demanded the harshest punishment.
